A friendly fixture win against a tough Penrhyncoch side was an encouraging start to proceedings at the Conygar Bridge Meadow but it was the performance of some of the younger players which had the bluebirds faithful drooling.
Dan Williams, Charlie Davies and Luke Raymond all showed flashes of genuine brilliance while Alaric Jones was composed and hard working at left back.
Greg Walters has added additional control to his passing and has matured into a very good footballer. Ricky Watts is a bundle of energy and Rodon and Pemberton look imperious in defence.
Another word on Sean Pemberton...he has developed into a fine skipper. On many occasions he went out of his way to offer encouraging words to the teenagers and equally could be seen berating players that were out of position or not chasing back. Really good to see and an illustration of his increasing infuence at the club.
The indications are that there will be plenty of entertainment on offer at the Conygar Bridge Meadow this season.
