Michael Ellis (Manager) Wayne Jones (Assistant) Derek Roberts (Assistant Manager)

In his first season as manager, but has been appointed Caretaker manager on several occasions. He has been involved with the club for over 30 years both as a player and a coach. A holder of a UEFA ‘A’ license he was previously responsible for the fitness of the players before taking over the reins at the end of last season.

A quality left side player who made 295 WPL appearances for County and Carmarthen Town. Was manager of Newcastle Emlyn before joining the County coaching staff last season under Derek Brazil. Recently gained his ‘B’ license, and his enthusiasm for the game is unrivalled.



Derek was a prominent member of the County line-up in the 70s.  A hard tackling, no-nonsense right back he began his career in the days of Ray Davies, and Ivor Allchurch.  He has had a reasonably successful career as a manager in the Pembrokeshire League, and is a UEFA A license holder.

Signed for Aberystwyth in summer 2006 from Trostre FC, but didn't make a Welsh Premier appearance. Joined Neath Athletic and was ever-present during their first 2008. Returned to The Gnoll in May 2010 and signed for County in the summer of 2011.

A product of County’s youth system, James made his WPL debut last season and won a man of the match award in his first game.

Martin has a wealth of experience in the Pembrokeshire League. He was signed from Herbrandson in the summer. As well as being a fine shot stopper he has a very keen footballing brain.

Defenders    
Gareth Elliott Dale Griffiths Phil Cattlin

Gareth is a long serving Bluebird with over one hundred appearances for the club in the WPL. He has also played for Merthyr and Barry. A solid and uncompromising defender who has made his presence felt both on and off the field.

A domineering central defender who spent time on the fringes of the Swansea City squad before leaving to join Merthyr Tydfil. Also played Welsh League football for Pontardawe Town before signing for Llanelli in the summer of 2006. Moved back to the Martyrs in July 2007, joining Carmarthen in January 2010, before leaving to join County in August 2011 He has played over 60 times in the WPL.

Played for Haverfordwest in 2002/3 after joining from local side Milford United, returning to Pembrokeshire League football, but back at New Bridge Meadow in 2004/5, the season in which he scored an S&C Goal of the Month. Moved to join former manager Deryn Brace at Carmarthen in January 2008, but left the following August to join local outfit Tenby. Rejoined County in 2011.

Carmarthenshire based player who has experience with Charlton Athletic both on the YTS and as a professional. A confident, left back who is also happy when attacking. Dave is returning to football after a three year break.

A versatile defender who joined the club in 2009, making his debut in County’s 2-1 away win against Rhyl. Was seen as a squad player during last season but made an impact towards the end, and is set to play a major role in the coming season.

A product of the County youth system who made his debut in the 2009-10 season as a 17 year old. A tremendous athlete and a player with an exciting future. He gained a Welsh Cup for the Under-18 schools in January 2010.

A combative midfielder  who was signed from Pontardawe where he was captain last season. Has also appeared for Neath, and has had spells at Swansea City and Cardiff City.  Has shown his strength as well as his ability in the preseason.

A Wales youth international who represented Prestatyn in their Welsh Alliance days and played in the League of Wales for Conwy United. Re-joined the Bastion Road outfit for their first season in the Welsh Premier from Welsh League outfit Pontardawe Town, after three years working as a teacher in South Wales. Has also represented Colwyn Bay, Prestatyn, Halkyn United, Llandudno and Bridgend. Left Bastion Road at the end of the 2008/9 season due to travelling difficulties. Signed for County in October 2011

Richard Lewis Declan John Matthew Ellis

Signed from Ammanford where he was the top scorer for the last two seasons. An exciting, and talented left winger whose pace and crossing ability will cause a lot of defences problems this season.

A member of the Welsh Under-18 side that beat Australia in January and a Llanelli youth teamer who signed non-contract Welsh Premier forms but was loaned to Welsh League outfit Pontardawe Town in January 2011 before signing for Afan Lido in July 2011. Made a few WPL appearances but joined County in October 2001.

The third  generation of the Ellis family to play for County, Matthew is a pacy right winger who has impressed in the Pembrokeshire league side over the past few seasons and has also appeared for the first team.

Anthony Owen Lee Hudgell Owen Thomas

A strong running winger who has been top scorer for Newcastle Emlyn for the past two seasons. His pace and attacking awareness have all ready been seen in preseason. Although he is usually a winger, is also able to play in the centre of attack.

Another product of the you system, and a regular player in the WPL since 2004. Had trials with both Norwich and Cardiff City. After a spell with Carmarthen he rejoined his hometown club in January 2010. A quality left sided player with immense pace and over 100WPL appearances.

Owen is in his second spell at the Bridge Meadow. Owen has played Welsh Premiere football for Aberystwyth,Carmarthen making close to 100 WPL appearances and played Welsh Leauge for his native club Newcastle Emlyn where he captained for several seasons.

Joined County in October 2011 from Newtown with whom he had two spells. Has also played for Aberaman Athletic.

Product of Swansea City youth scheme. Captained Carmarthen Town u19's.Played Welsh Leauge for Newcastle Emlyn Fc before trying his hand at Haverfordwest  County. A tough tackling midfielder.

 

 

Forwards    
Nicky Woodrow Richard Ryan Luke Robinson

Came through the Haverfordwest reserves and also played for Pembrokeshire League outfits Milford United and Herbrandston. Spent five seasons in the Welsh Premier with County scoring 23 goals in 46 starts, but left in the summer of 2010. He returned in 2011 after winning a Pembrokeshire League double with Hakin.

Played for Port Talbot from youth level and for rivals Afan Lido before moving to Aberystwyth Town for season 2004/5. Returned to Port Talbot in March 2005. Signed second forms for Welsh Leaguers Goytre United in August 2005 and scored for fun, signing for Carmarthen in February 2006.  Signed from Bridgend where he scored over 40 goals last season.

A product of the Haverfordwest County youth set-up who played for the reserves in the Pembrokeshire League, before making his Welsh Premier debut as a substitute against Airbus UK Broughton in March 2008. Has been scoring regularly in the Pembrokeshire League and will be pushing for a starting spot this season.

A bustling centre forward who was previously with Goodwick and Merlin’s Bridge whose physical presence and footballing skill will be a handful for many defences this season. Has shown promise in the preseason to earn a place in the squad and he is looking to develop his game.

Spent two seasons on the fringes of his home town club Cardiff City but joined Merthyr after being released from Ninian Park in the summer of 2006. Signed for Newtown on dual forms in March 2007 but then decided to link up with Barry Town Has also appeared for ,Aberaman,and Ton Pentre. A clever striker who has a wealth of Welsh League experience who has an eye for goal.

A sharp, skillful  young striker who has played for Lllanelli,Cwmamman Utd,and Ammanford.. Signed for County in August 2011 and is a very useful addition to the squad.

 

 

Darren Griffiths

The brother of County defender Dale Griffiths, was added to Llanelli's squad for the InterToto Cup ties with Vetra in 2007. Previously with Welsh League outfits Pontardawe Town and West End, joined Carmarthen Town from Goytre United in August 2010, but left Richmond Park in February 2011 to play for Moreland City FC in Australia's Victoria Premier League. Signed for County in October 2011.
